Community Service

Dedicated to Serving Our Community

We're connected by more than power lines. We're part of your community and we're committed to seeing it thrive. As part of our commitment, SPEC employees volunteer 300+ hours within the communities we serve each year.

Keeping the lights on is at the heart of what SPEC does every day. But as a cooperative, SPEC is even more invested in your community. Our employees live and work in your neighborhoods. Their children go to school with your children. They volunteer at local organizations, coach youth sports teams and attend community events.

We are your neighbor and we’re invested in seeing our communities thrive. Because what’s good for the community is good for the cooperative.

Each year, our employees are encouraged to participate in at least 8 hours of community service outside of our regular business hours. Employees pick up trash through the Adopt-A-Highway program, volunteer in local food banks, serve at area animal shelters and more!

We are always looking for new opportunities to serve in our communities. If you know of any organizations in our service area that need a hand, let us know.

Know where we can help?

Do you know of a community organization that's looking for a helping hand? Are you in need of some assistance at your home? We are always looking for new volunteering opportunities! Fill out this form to let us know and a representative will contact you as soon as they are able.
